"Capunder" (daughter of James Hammett and Anna Brockman)name has been transcribed incorrectly. Her name is Cassander and sometimes it is spelled with as Kassander. She went to live with her grandfather, Henry Brockman, when Anna died in 1826. Henry was a deacon in the Clear Springs Bapt. Church in Simpsonville, SC. Cassander, Missouri, and Sarah went to live with the grandparents. They are listed as members of the church. Additionally, Anna's children a legacy from Henry Brockman's will and once again her name is shown as Kassandria. She marries William A. Sloan and they are on the AL 1850 and 1860 census (as Slone and Stone). Cassander turns up in TN with the children in 1870 and 1880 and lists herself as a widow. I have documentation all all the above and would be glad to share with you. I have a copy of the death certificate of Gilla Sloan and her mother is shown as Cassander Hammett of SC.
