Karl/Carl Hammerschmidt/Smith and Aura Lewis's 2 sons 1952 New Jersey

I am going out on a whim here. I am looking for descendants of my Grandfather Karl Hammerschidt or Carl Hammersmith or Smith. I've exhausted all of my efforts on Accestry.com. You wouldn't happen to have any family ties with the East coast would you?

Well, my father is a blood Hammerschmidt, but my grandmother hid who his real father was and gave him her husband's name, so it's a mystery. Unfortunately she took it to her grave, so all I have is a name of Karl Hammerschmidt and I know he lived in New Jersey when my father was born. I'm not sure if it's Karl or Carl. My grandmother was born in 1914 so he had to have been around the same age. I know nothing else. I am so bummed. So my real maiden last name should have been Hammerschmidt. I have traced all of my mother's side and have come to a complete road block with my father's. Any suggestions?

I just don't know what else to do. My father David Stanley Lewis was born in 1955 and he has an older brother named Charles who was born in I think 1952. Both of them have the same father (Carl) so my grandmother had an affair with him for several years. My Aunt tells me he was the love of her life. Both my Grandmother Aura Erestine Lewis and Karl Hammerschmidt were married to other people during this affair. My father was born in New Jersey although my Grandmother always told him he was born in Troy, NY. My grandmother didn't have his birth recorded or she used a false name. He has no birth certificate. He just found all this out a few years ago. So the man he thought was his father all his life was not
