looking for my ggg aunts family. Eliza is daughter of Mary Polly Boots and (?). mary" Polly" was on the Trail of Tears, someone close to her dies on the trail of tears. she was tri racial raised cherokee. Polly is daughter of Captian/ CHief Shoeboots head man at Hightower. signer of many treaties. in the war of 1812 and ST Clairs defeat and maybe even the Revelutionary War. Son of Chiefs still not figured out, we just know he is son of the greatest/most powerful chiefs in the old nation.
some of his many names Chulio, Dasigiyagi ( maybe turtle at home), old Cock, ( possibly White Owls Son) and many many more names.
Polly's mother's name was Daull/Doll , indian name Con.gel.loh or cob.cob.lol, and possibly something like "kitchen doll" maybe. shoeboots and Daull have five kids. DAull/dolly was a slave that shoeboots made his wife, she lived fully as his wife. and she was part or full black, but I think part indian too maybe chickasaw or tuscarora. as her and ALL her kids all pass as white in AR and IN, MO on censuses,. Elizabeth (eliza)Jane, Polly's sister is discribed as "Yellow" on her slave papers( all kids were a slave for sometime in their lives because of that one drop law and georgia overrulling cherokee LAWs and enforcing their own on them) But she was blondish. anyway I would love to talk to anyone with cherokee Hammers from MO, KA, OK, IN> OH, VA, KY, GA. ( these are places I know my elizabeth or her kids were). any Hammers Know this story?
