I'm not absolutely positive that this is the Jennie you are looking for, but in 1870 Moline Twp, Rock Island Co. there was a Jennie Hammer age 1. The census was done 17 June 1870, if she was born Aug 1868, she would have been listed as 1 in June 1870, the age on the census is age at last birthday. Her parents were John Hammer age 26 born in Sweden and mother Ida age 26 also born in Sweden.
