I have also seen a dutch link to the Hammack name. To be more precise it was a Flemish name. That being it originated in Flanders. Through all the searches I have done I am yet to find a person by the Hammack name on the main European continent. In my research I have found that people in Flanders were reknown for their wool spinning capabilities and that many left for England and Scotland during the middle ages. Could this be why their are no known Hammacks left in Flanders? I can only wonder. As stated in my previous post I can only find Hammacks in England, Scotland, and Wales. I have recently found Hammocks( with an o" ) in Ireland. Could this be a strain of our kind? Possibly, Our odd little name has been mangled into various forms before. If anyone has any more information please post.
