Thanks for responding!No, the note didn't have any dates anywhere, just parents and lists of their children.It is in my grandmother's handwriting, and I think it was done about 1916 when my grandfather's father visited them.She must have interviewed him about his family.
How did you find out about Sallie St. James?I am curious because my sheet lists Elizabeth Hamlett's mother and her daughter (my great grandmother) as "Sallie St. John".I have alway thought this a bit odd, but would make more sense if her mother's name was "St. James".
Also, I see listed in the 1860 and 1870 Charlotte Co., VA census that Thomas Hamlett's wife is Sarah.
And by the way, one of Elizabeth (Hamlett) St. John's daughters was named Louisa, possibly after her sister.
I know this probably sounds confusing, I guess I am "thinking out loud" as I am typing.Anyway, thanks for the information!Let me know if I might have any info that you need.
