I am looking for the parents of John A. Hamilton, b 1830 in Ohio. John married Amanda Evans, b 1834 in Indiana. I posted a similar question many years ago but now have new information.
Censuses for John and Amanda show that his father was born in PA and his mother was born in VA. I then searched the 1850 Ohio census for any similar family and found only one candidate:
Father: James Hamilton, born abt 1797, PA.
Mother: Elizabeth, born abt 1800, VA.
Further research shows that this couple had a son, John A, born in Ohio in 1830. Further, Elizabeth is Elizabeth Overpack and James Hamilton's parents were:
Father: John Hamilton, born 1770 in MD, died 1836 in IN.
Mother: Catherine Forester.
I am looking for additional history of James and Elizabeth Hamilton.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
