Dear David

There is a photograph of Mary in a book by Mary Sophia Allen - Lady in Blue, published in London in 1936. It was taken in 1924, when Mary Hamilton took Mary Allen to a dinner with police officers. Mary H said they would have to leave early, but they didn't leave early enough, and witnessed the consequences of consumption of illegal alcohol.
Lady in Blue might be hard to find - it is a fairly rare book, but some university libraries have copies.

Hope this helps! Best wishes, Nina
