I'm trying to find out if my 3-gr-grandfather Simeon Moore Hamilton, b:19 May 1836,Fredonia, Mercer Co., Pa. Married to Isabelle King in 1863,at Mercer Co.,Pa. is actually Simeon Moore son or grandson of James Moore b:abt 1794 in Pa., d:31 Mar 1866 at Delaware Twp, Mercer Co.,Pa. I can't find Simeon M.Hamilton in any of the Pa. census records before 1860 ?? But I did find a Simeon Moore Living with a James Moore in the Mercer Co.,Pa. 1850 census record. In 1865 or 66 James wills his 100 acre farm to Simeon for about $700 dollars payable to James female heirs, Nancy, Merbey(sp??),Isabel, And Charlotte Moore Porter wife of Daniel Porter. I haven't been able to find out who James Moore's wife was or what her maiden name was. I do have a copy of paper work that Charlotte and Daniel Porter filed to try to get the farm from Simeon. Any help would be welcomed.
