Who was Sir John Hamilton?

I'm trying to find more about a John Hamilton who initiated a lawsuit in England in 1833 regarding the will of his first cousin, Aldborough Richardson. While referred to as plain John Hamilton at the time, in the 1840s, when there was a further related legal case, he was referred to as Sir John Hamilton. There are a number of relevant documents searchable through Google Books.

The documents show he had a brother Robert Hamilton who served in various British army regiments in the 1820s, went into the wine trade in 1832 and was bankrupted the same year.

Also closely connected with John and Robert was a David Hamilton, who was listed as a dealer, tailor and chapman in London directories from the mid-1820s to 1840.

None of these Hamiltons seems to have been in England for the 1841 census, though it's hard to be sure.

Would much appreciate advice if any of these people appear in anyone's tree or other advice.

Best wishes
