I am looking for information regarding Robert Hamilton b 1807 Dundee Scotland d. 1871 Winsor Locks, CT. Came to the US when 14 years old? He was a Scotish Weaver - Came to Enfield, CT (now Thompsonville) Helped a "Thompson" start a carpet mill (1821 - 1823?) which is now known as "Biglow Sanford" mills. Became a citizen of the United States at the age of 62. Died at 64.

Married Elizabeth Blythe: b. 1810 Glasgow, Scotland m. 24 June 1833 = Enfield, CT d. 4 Nov. 1852 bur. Windsor Locks, CT

Children by Elizabeth:

Elizabeth - Died at age 60 (in 1896) of diphtheria - she never married

Margaret - Married James Knight - A Scotsman from Glasgow - they lived in New Britain, CT

Martha - Married Edward Lee - had 1 child died young

Robert - Died at 51 yrs

Jeannette -

When Elizabeth died, Robert married Agnes Blair - (she was in her 20's) of Paisley Scotland - had one child

John Blair Hamilton = Born in Merrimac, N.H. 28 March 1856?

I have a lot of holes here. I would just like to find out who Robert's parents were and how he got to the United States, marriage, death, citizenship records? I haven't had any luck finding any of this information. Thanks Gloria Hamilton
