Want to Locate Richard W. Hamilton

This is a shot in the dark but I would like to locate a Richard W. Hamilton who served in WW2, was from Norwich, NY, who lived on North Broad St., whose mother or wife was Mrs. L. Hamilton, and who trained at General Patton's training camp in the desert of Southern CA near Rice, CA.
....Long story/short, I found his Army dog tag while using a metal detector there a few years ago. I have his service number but get no results from the National Archives.
