From the Topeka State Journal, Monday April 17, 1972, page 5:
HOLTON - Mrs. Mabelle Hamilton, 85, Holton, died Sunday in a hospital here.
She was born Feb. 14, 1887 at Holton where she spent her early life. she lived at Tucumcari, N.M. before she returned to Holton five years ago. She was a member of First United Methodist Church at Holton.
She was married to Roy A. Hamilton Jan. 14, 1914, at Holton. He died Aug. 27, 1964. A son, A. L. Hamilton, died September 16, 1933.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mary Jarvis, Lincoln, Neb.; and two brothers, Charles McAllister and Clarence McAllister, both of Holton.
Mercer Funeral Home at Holton is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka.
