Hi Dolores
Sorry, but I can't find any marriage Hamill/Watson in the time frame 1850-55. Without this, it is impossible to trace with certainty any family of John and Sarah. The name Hamill predominates in Antrim and Armagh and Watson has no particular locus (although it is likely to be of Scottish, protestant origin). I am assuming that John Hamill was catholic and, therefore, the marriage may have been "mixed". Quite a few couples of mixed marriage (one of my great uncles included!) emigrated to get away from the stigma attached to such marriages at that time.
This is all pure speculation, you will understand, but if you can obtain further details of Sarah from family sources, come back to me. Best wishes. Den
