Hi Dylan Nice to hear from you.

My great grandfather was married in County Tyrone. He spent many years in British Army. He was posted to India and Egypt, among other places.

In Hollywood, near Belfast, he had a green grocer shop that my mother visited often as a child (circa 1930's)

James Hamill was a regimental Sgt Major. He was a musician. He made his own violins.

He married three times.
First marriage to Anne McNamee in Sion Mills or Strabane County Tyrone. Anne died in India prior to 1909.

James was son of Michael (Mickey) Hamill and Margaret McIlwee.

Are you in Belfast? Do you know the address 11 Wallasey Park?

I lived there in January 1945. I was only six weeks old at the time.

James' daughter was Margaret Ann--she married William John Leeburn. My mother, Eileen Mary Leeburn, was born 1921 and she lived at 11 Wallasey Park until 1945 when she and I sailed for United States.

I now live in Nebraska. I have visited Belfast several time over the past 30 years.

Another daughter of James Hamill was Eileen Nancarrow. Her sons lived in Hollywood area in 1990's.

Keep in touch

Terence Kelley in Nebraska
