Hamill Family Genealogy Forum

Good day! Thank you so much for responding to my message, much appreciated!! From recent research via a contact I have in Northern Ireland, I was able to piece together my line of Hamill's. My grandfather was John Hamill, his father was James Hamill (which I had in my message), James' father was George Hamill, and the George's father was John Hamill (the typical Irish reusage of names through the generations). Prior to John Hamill I do not know (3xgreat grandfather). From what I am told a lot of records were destroyed so I may never know prior to my 3xgreat grandfather. It is great filling in the blanks though. Also, as far as I know, my line was always in County Antrim, near Belfast/Ballymena area. From what I know, I believe it was John (George's father) who owned a fair amount of property in that area as well. Of course, there is always the chance that your Michael Hamill is a sibling to one of my lines. All I know for sure is that my direct line (as mentioned above) was always in County Antrim. The search is always on, perhaps we can make our connection sometime down the road. Good luck with your research!!
Also, thank you for the software recommendation, I will definitely look into that! I appreciate it!!
Again, good luck with your search!! Thank you for your response!! Take care!!
