I am seeking info on Robert Hamill, my 3xg grandfather. Not sure of the birth date, I am guessing abt early 1800's. His 2 children were John W. Hamill, b: 22 Dec 1832, Blount County, Tn., and Araminta J. Hamill, B.14 Aug 1835, Blount County, Tn. I believe this Robert Hamill married a Nancy H. _____. She is buried in Blount County at Big Springs Cemetery. Her tombstone says "mother of John W Hamill". I do not know her maiden name.
Robert Hamill's father was John Hamill, who died in 1823, in Blount County, Tn., with all his children being minors and were sent to live with his brothers. John Hamill's father was another Robert Hamill (Hammole), b: abt 1751, Ireland, and I have seen that his father was a Nathaniel Hamill, but I have no knowledge of Nathaniel Hamill.
This Robert Hamill's children, John W, and Araminta, were raised by his uncle, David Hamill and Nancy Walker Hamill of Blount County. I am a descendant of Araminta.
