Pam, Thanks for responding. Since I posted that note I have
collected more information about our Hamill ancestors.
Nelson died 1846-1847 and it appears the family split up.
1850 census shows some of the children living in different
families. Any idea what happened to Nelson's wife? There
is no mention of her in his will. A guardian was appointed
for George, John and Alexander. Also I found that Alexander, John, George and Jefferson (Thomas)all enlisted in the Confederate Army on the same day. What brothers!
I have some abstracts of various Halifax court documents and will be glad to share if you do not have them.
Do you have any information on Adam and Jane Hamill before
they moved to Halifax Co??
Thanks, Clara
