Hi,
I could be connected, who knows. Basically, my father was from Hull and moved to Fleetwood during the second World War. As did my grandparents and his brothers and sister. It was in Fleetwood that he met my mother and to coin a phrase the rest is history. The Michael you refer to, does not ring any bells with me as being connected. And I do know that there is/was another Hames family in the town. Some years ago I did some work on my family tree. We too are a fishing family from Hull. My great grandfather was involved in the Dogger Bank incident when the Russian Navy fired upon the Gamecock Fleet, mistakening them for the Japanese Navy. His ship was holed, but he survived to tell the tale.Don't know wether this is of any interest to you? Let me know.
Steve
