My mother was a Hamer from Pen-y-bont (about 5 miles from Nantmel) and I am just starting to research that side of my family tree.
I know Pen-y-bont had two Hamer families, one which were the "squires" and the other, mine which had a timber business and horses. My grandfather Thomas Hamer was born in 1874 so I may be from the same Hamer line, but with two families so close its doesn't help
