Hello,

I am married to a man called Harry Hamel (Henry Gerard Hamel on his birth certificate). i am trying to find out a bit more about his ancestors.
All I know is that the Hamels came from Germany possibly Stuttgart in the 1930's to Dublin. They were protestants and were in the Pork Butchering business.

The had only one son and his name was Henry Hamel.
He married a woman called Doris from Balbriggan who was catholic.

They had 5 girls and three boys.

My husbands father was the eldest called Henry Augustus Hamel (nicknamed Gussie) who died in 1998.

If you know anything at all about this Hamel family I would be grateful for a response from you. We may have relations out there.

Thanks,

Colette Hamel
