Hi Audrey,
I hope that you do have something to tie into on the (Hamblett) Hamlet line !!
I have George Combs (Hamblett) married to Phebe. I start with George C. Hamlet in Virginia, then to White Co., Tenn. and on to Mississippi.
I am descended through his daughter Emily married to Powers. I find them in various counties in Mississippi but they seem to connect to my Powers family in Yaloubusha, Grenada, and Tallahatchie Counties.
I have some of George C. Hamlet's children's names -- he was married twice. Mine would be from the first marriage.
I also have Emily (Hamlet) Powers' family.
Please let me know if any of this looks like it might fit into the line you are researching. I would be glad to exchange info.
I do not have anything on the G.H. Hamblett in Yalobusha County but my Powers is on the 1850 Yalobusha County census and I do not know where he married Emily. He later went to Tallahatchie County and I find them there for a number of years. My Emily died in 1852 but the Powers remarried and I find records on George C. Hamlet and my Powers in Tallahatchie County until around 1860 -- Powers moves to Texas. George C. Hamlet is still there and I do not know when he died --I am pretty sure he is dead by 1870.
Anxious to hear from you,
Peggy
