My grandfather(Johann Joachim Ludwig Christian Wilhelm Martin Hamann) was born OCT 10 1857 in Bad Doberan, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. He immigrated to NY,NY in 1873 where his name was changes to John William Holman. (No wonder we have trouble tracing our geneology!) John then moved on to Wayne Co, MI. where he married, raised a family and died. I have been able to follow this line to his parents Johann Hamann and Dorthea Westphal in Germany but no further. Any information on this family line in Germany would be apreciated. Thanks
