Hi I have some informtaion on a Jacob Hamme Sr. which is a different spelling from what you have could this be the same one. He died in Berkeley County in 1825. My GGG grandfather James M Myers owned that land later which is referred to as the "Hamme Plantation". Somewhere I have photos of Jacob and his wife but they are in a storage unit and impossible to get to...these came from the BCHS in Martinsburg and they may be in one of their books and available to you if you contact them. There is a will for him the following is all I have of it...Item #3 I direct that my plantation near Back Creek in Berkeley County be sold agreeable to the opinon of my executors for the purpose of paying my legal debts...dated 11/3/1822. You could probably get a copy of the will by contacting the BCHS...I also have the following... "PUBLIC AUCTION" Will be sold, by public auction, on Saturday the 23rd instant, on the premises for CASH, the HOUSE AND LOT,at present occupied by the subscriber, belonging to the estate of Jacob Hamme, Sen, Deceased, situated on Queen Street, Martinsburg. also...On the same day, and at the same place, "A FARM" adjoing the lands of Jacob Stookey, Abraham Snyder, and others, containing 187 acres of land. It is not deemed necessary to give a particular description of this property, as any person wishing to purchase, will first view it. TERMS...CASH> singned, Jacob Hamme Acting Ex'r Martinsburg April 7 This was in the Martinsburg Gazette April 7, 1825 Vol 13, Page 3 Col 5. This is the farm that my ancestor later purchased.
