Too many similarities between our stories to not have some connection.

See my message posted 11/8/02.

Do you know where in Hopkinton, MA they lived. My dad's cousin (Mary Beth)the daughter of Mary Elizabeth (Halpin) McNamera. She remembers her mother going to visit relatives at 49 Pleasant Street, Hopkinton, MA. Mary's fathter was Thomas John Halpin, and we are pretty sure he was in St. Louis as early as 1880, but he was originally from Massachusetts so he may have still had some family there.
