In the House of Halpenny I have Mary Halpenny married to Thomas Plester. She was the daughter of Jacob Halpenny 1812-1890 and Mary Jackson who emigrated from County Wicklow to Ontario about 1830 and settled in Boyd's Settlement, Lanark County and later in Normandy Township, Grey County. Mary Halpenny's siblings were Jane who married Thomas Stephenson, Jacob who married Lizzie Loughton, Richard who married Esther Mitchell and Susan who married Richard Parslow. Jacob Halpenny's parents were William Halpenny and M.Esther Gilltrap.Mary and Thomas had two children, Jacob and Mary who died young.
