Robert HOLLAM arrived in Virginia in August 1620 on the Bonaventure. [See http://english-america.com/spls/620va003.html]
A Robert HALAM is shown in the Virginia Muster of February 16, 1623/4 as amongst the "Settlers living at 'Neck-of-Land' in Virginia [at Charles City County, VA]. [See http://english-america.com/places/va624002.html ]
He is subsequently shown in the Virginia Muster of January 20-February 7, 1624/5 as residing at the "Neck-of-Land, Corporation of Charles City". [See http://english-america.com/places/va625002.html#Muster ] This muster shows Robert HOLLAM as age 23 at the date of the muster (b abt 1601/1602).
Some secondary sources I have seen show his place of origin or birth in England as Burnham, Essex, England. I am unaware of the authority for this assertion.
One secondary source shows Robert HALLUM's wife as "Ann" and indicates that Robert HALLUM died on 6 May 1638. This seems to be supported by some of the information from early Virginia Patents. I will Post that information separately.
At least one source seems to show Robert HALLUM's wife as Anne PRICE, the widow of John PRICE. John PRICE is asserted to have died in Sept 1628. Though I am uncertain of the authority for these assertions, it is clear that there was a John and Ann PRICE living adjacent to Robert HALLUM at the date of both the 1623/4 and 1624/5 Muster. John PRICE is shown to be age 40 at January 20-February 7 1624/5, while his wife Ann is shown to be age 21. Ann is said to have arrived on the Francis Bonaventure in 1620. [See http://english-america.com/spls/620va014.html#Francis_Bonaventure ]
It seems clear that Robert HALLUM was SINGLE in 1624/5 and that Anne PRICE was living nearby. The idea that she might have remarried Robert HALLUM after the death of her husband seems quite plausible.
One reason that this Robert HALLUM is of interest to me is that William ROPER married a Hannah HOLLAM on 19 JAN 1629 at Saint Gregory By Saint Paul, London, London, England. A Capt. William ROPER settled on Virginia's Eastern Shore in Accomack about 1633.
A Hannah ROPER, age 23, is shown to be arriving in Virginia Aboard the Ship "Paul" in 1635. [See http://english-america.com/spls/635stc05.html ]. You will note that if Hannah ROPER was age 23 in 1635, she would have been age 17 in 1629, rather precisely a marriageable age!
Some secondary sources shown the Hanna HOLLAM who married William ROPER to be from Plymouth, Devon, England. The authority for this assertion is unknown to me.
Hannah HOLLAM would appear to have been born about 1612.

Anna ELLAM (bapt 16 SEP 1610 - Farnworth Near Prescot, Lancashire, England), dau of Johis. [John] ELLAM
Anna HALLOME (bapt 06 OCT 1611 - Hope, Derby, England), dau of Robert HALLAM
Anne ELAM (bapt 04 FEB 1612 - Barnbrough, Yorkshire, England), dau of Henry ELAM
Anne HALLOME (bapt FEB 1615 - Saint Michael, Derby, Derby, England), dau of George HALLOME
The first of these, Ann HALLAM (bapt 04 JAN 1607 - Saint Clement Danes, Westminster, London, England), has to also recommend it the existence of a baptismal record at Saint Clement Danes the SAME year of a Dority ROPPER (bapt 23 MAR 1607 - Saint Clement Danes, Westminster, London, England), which is suggestive of the presence of both ROPERs and HALLAMs contemporaneously in this parish.

Robert ALLAM (bapt 29 JUL 1599 - Silk Willoughby, Lincoln, England), son of William ALLAM
Robert ALLAM (bapt 15 JUN 1603 - Grantham, Lincoln, England), son of Nicholas ALLAM
Robert HALAM (bapt 03 JUN 1604 - Boothby Graffoe, Lincoln, England), son of Francis HALAM
I would be much interested in hearing from HALLUM genealogists with a knowledge of or interest in this/these HALLAM families!
