Chris, tell us when your grandfather was born, when and where he died. Did he live pretty much in the same place location for most of his days? Do you have any idea where in Ireland he came from, or about what date he immigrated?
Or his parents immigrated? In order to be of assistance to you in your search, much additional information needs to be posted here. What bits of information do your nearby relatives tell you?

Thanks. My great-grandfather's brother was named John also. They came from County Clare. Many Hallorans came from the Galway Bay area and northern County Clare. I have some online capability to search the UK records - so let us know.
