My great great grandfather Matthew Halloran immigrated from Ireland with his brother Thomas in the early 1860's, and they purchased farms in Canandaigua, New York - which is very close to Rochester, NY. There they both married and raised families. I have done a lot of research and eventually found that Matthew Halloran's family left Canandaigua sometime after 1880 and moved to Buffalo, NY. Thomas Halloran's family stayed, I think, and I assumed that these were the Hallorans connected to the funeral homes. I made this assumption because one of the homes was the Henry Halloran Funeral Home and I know that one of Thomas's sons was named Henry. I found the Halloran family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery in Canandaigua, NY - but I have no idea who is buried there. I have some further thoughts and information - if any of this means anything to you.
