I am interested in the time and place of Rosetta White and John Hallock...
I am researching a Hallock branch that was in the Unionville, Orange County, NY area around the time of the Civil War and after... I know that the family had been there for a number of years before that, but I haven't figured out who the next generation was behind my g-g-grandfather, named John Hallock, who married Harriet McBride and was widowed in 1892.They had two children- a daughter, Eva, b. 1880,and a son, (Floyd?) b. abt. 1888.The family legend is that after Harriet's death, John took his son to live in Middletown, and left his daughter (my g-grandmother) with his wife's family.Father and daughter were not, subsequently, close;I do not know if John remarried and had other children, or even what became of Eva's brother. If any of this sounds vaguely familiar, I'd be grateful for a reply- please email me.
Thanks,
Beth Wilson
