HALLMAN, Ruth
HALLMAN, Ruth Lauretta passed away on May 13, 2009 at the age of 93. Ruth was predeceased by her brother, Donald. She is survived by Milton, her dear husband of 65 years, her two sisters, Norma and Vivian, her children: Larry (Wanda), David, Marlene (Barry), and Richard (Debora) as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan, Ruth grew up on a homestead in the woods near Dahlton. In 1944 she married her childhood sweetheart, Milton, who courted her by letter from England during WWII. They moved to Oliver, then Kelowna where she spent the rest of her days. Ruth was a devoted mother, a talented artist, a caring friend and a true disciple of Christ. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Many thanks to Sun Pointe Village staff for providing Ruth with a loving home, to Ursula for always being there for her and Don and the staff at Home Instead for such great support, to Dr. Griswold for his gentle care and the nurses and staff at KGH 5B for helping her through some difficult days. A service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, June 6 at Rutland United Church with Rev. Rick Potter officiating. In lieu of flowers, Ruth requested that donations be made directly to Rutland United Church, 1370 Rutland Rd., Kelowna, B.C. V1X 4Z3.
