I, too, am researching the Halladay/Hallyday/Halliday pedigree and am stuck in the 1600s in Yorkshire. I have a John Hallyday of Heminbrough, York, England with sons born (1) William in 1636 and (2) John born in 1640 in Heminbrough, York, England. This line goes to Warwickshire, England, to an ancestor Sir John Halladay or Hallyday, c 1738 and son of Henry Holyday and subsequently to Utah, USA. None of my names match those in your message, but I am wondering if we are working on the same family? I would be interested in your feedback. Supposedly my line connects, eventually, to the Sir John Halliday of Tulliebole, Fifeshire, but I have no proof.
