Robert Halliday d.1848 Slacks Lochrutton

Looking for more information about Robert Halliday (my g.g.g grandfather).
He was a farmer at Slacks, Lochrutton, Dumfries, Scotland and died there 11th Nov. 1848. He was married to Sarah who also died at Slacks 15th Sept. 1855. His sons John Halliday d. 1883 aged 67 and Robert d.1847 are the only children I know about.
I would like help to go back further and any information about their children.
