I am aware of the Cooksey's in the Civil War. My Grandfather's brother Watson Cooksey was killed in the Civil War. Watson's father was a LT in the MS Cavalry. The Cooksey's in Tnn are related to me but back a few generations to Va and Md. There was a Cooksey Girl from either Ky or Tnn that married a Hallaburton. She was not in my direct line but a off shoot. Watson's father was James W. Cooksey. He and his 2nd wife are buried at Pine Valley Cemetery in San Jacinto Co. Texas. My Grandfather was Michael Cooksey who served in no war and is buried at Center Hill Cem. in Sanjacinto County. Your distant klan still loves you. Thanks JL Cooksey
