My records show that Joseph Hallam (b. May 28, 1786, Franklin Twp, Washington, PA, d. May 13, 1853), was the son of Joseph Hallam (b. abt 1724-1750, d. abt 1730), the grandson of Thomas Hallam (b. abt 1701 in Joppa, Harford Co., Md, d. abt. 1750-1794)and Elizabeth Deaton (b. 1710, Henrico County, VA, d. abt 1750-1803). Deaton family records show Thomas Hallam as marrying Elizabeth on September 10, 1732. Her family were settled in Virginia, with her parents originally from England.

There are MANY family files floating around with Isabel Fell as Thomas' wife, but Elizabeth Deaton appears to be the right name for his wife. Unfortunately it is hard to get the family files posted on sites corrected. Personally, I've tried, and despite my requests to Ancestry and others, they are still there.
