Hi Jane
My name is Philip Duke and I live in New Zealand. My great grandfather is John Hallam born at Screveton in 1834, the elder brother of your George.
John arrived at Melbourne on the Miles Barton on 30 September 1857 and sailed on to New Zealand in about 1859.
In the last couple of years I have obtained a few brief details on brothers George and Richard, but only basic facts. Brother Thomas also went to either Australia or New Zealand but returned to England by 1870 when he was married.
Youngest sister Mary also moved to Australia, probably in the 1880's and died at Clunes in 1927 - it occured to bme that she might have come out to look after George's children after Bridget died in 1883.
I have a few photos and some copies of Wills that you may be interested in.
