Hi Faith;
Payne Halladay is not his name as far as I can tell. I think someone saw a listing showing the two last names combined, as they some times do, and thought it was his name.His name was Lewis Halladay, wife Emeline Payne. Their male children were Rowland Payne,Claudius Victor and Shumway William Halladay.
Lewis was born in 1815 and did not die in 1825.I looked at the Payne Halladay Tree listed here and I think the death date was ambiguous and meant he was born between 1810 and 1825 with no death date listed.In my previous post I listed the war records for their three boys and it lists their parents as I stated. Lewis is from The Walter Halladay - Katherine Hunter family.
