I am seeking information on William Halladay Captain of the ship Carolina Princess who sailed from Plymouth, England in 1726.He first went to Cardiff Wales and then N. Ireland taking on passengers. In March 1727 he sailed the ship up the Potomac River and his ship was impounded in Virginia. He and his crew and passengers were put ashore near the Virginia/Pennsylvania border never to be heard from again. He may possibly have changed his name to Hornaday. This information on him and his ship is taken from Peter Wilson Coldham's Vol II More English Adventures and Emigrants, 1626-1777.This Halladay could also possibly relate to Scot Halliday lineage.
