I am in the line of the Duplin County Hall's. My GG Grandaddy was Lewis Thomas (Tom?) Hall and William J. Hall BOTH son's of Drew Hall son of Gregory Hall son of ????.
The ???? is what I am researching for. It appears to be a mystery of who Gregory Hall's father was.
I have been told all my life that we came from the William Hall from Hallsville. If this is true then one of his sons or even maybe one of his daughters had a son (who wasn't married) and therefore Gregory would have kept the Hall name.
I posted to another post and someone from out of state advised me that I was probably not in their line (Duplin County) because the name Gregory Hall was not there.
I am not a professional researcher and I am just learning so it is very easy for me to make a mistake but from what I am seeing the line probably does go back to Issac Hall from Va. I got off on a rabbit trail trusting someone else's family tree. I am learning that all research does not have documentation. I quess the only "final proof" is DNA.
My G Grandfathers name was Issac Gregory Hall.
Any help will be greatly appreciated,
Thank You
Faye
