Caroline, I think that he was a son of James G. Hall of Thomas County,Georgia, and his wife Elizabeth. James was born about 1800 in Montgomery County, Ga, and died in 1841 in Thomas County. He was a son of Juniper Hall Sr of Emanuel County Ga, and his first wife, Elizabeth Braswell. James inherited land in Early County Ga in his father's 1828 *Emanuel County, Ga) will, land which was soon in Thomas County, and was situated near the Ga/Florida border. There is a comprehensive section on the James G. Hall family in the book, "Of One Dozen Sassers", which was published in 1981, and which is on-line at the Screven/Jenkins Ga library website. In the article about Reno Duren, I think that the reference "Juniper and Serena Hall" was a mistake.David J.Hall was a grandson of Juniper Hall. His wife Harriet was a daughter of Serena Hurst (and Allen Wilson). There should be records on David J. Hall in Thomas County,I would think.
