Spanish Bapt. Mary Silcox when she was 6 years old, she was born in 1786, in Florida her father was John Silcox & Milly Cordory from Pensacola FL. Mary Silcox married John Hall, one of there girls Sarah "Jane" Hall married Fleming Johns,in 1836, they were attacked by a band of Indians(Chief Tallahassee) in 1836 in Duval County, Fleming Johns was killed Jane was shot and scalped, but she lived. Her sister Amelia Ann Hall married Capt John Henry Heck, he was born in Boonesbourgh MD 1815, he came to FL in 1835, and stayed untill abt 1844 when he mustered into the Army and fought in the Battle of Charubuso (Mexican War) they had my ggrandmother George Anne Heck 1844, Amelia Hall Heck remarried to James L Whidden in Manatee Co in 1852. George Anne Married first William Henry Shepard in 1861, then after the Civil War she married King Curry, his father was Jones/Jonas Curry who was born in 1810, they came from Early county GA in the 1840's, one of his daughters was Harriet Curry b in FL in 1843, she married a William Shiver and they lived in the Kissimmee Vally untill her death in 1897. Two of there sons James Barney Shiver and Lewis Shiver married Quin Bass's daughters. I also have a John W Mercer who had an Alexander Mercer in 1848, who had a William Thomas Mercer who married Joseph Demath Bryan's daughter Minnie Bryan, her mother was Margaret Bennett, Tom Mercer and Minnie Bryan married in 1900 in probably Desota County. Im willing to share any of the info I have collected from Seminole Indian War Pension Files, Civil War pension files, Old marriage records and so on, with any family connections, Im hoping to find any old family photos too.
