The 1860 Wilcox County, Georgia census shows the following. Francis, age 32, Elender, wife, age 30, the children were, Catherine 8, Esterann 6, Gerlianne 4, and Josiah 1 year old.
The 1880 Ware County, Georgia census shows the following. Josiah W. Hall, age 20, Hester, wife, age 15. H. E. Hall, MOTHER, age 50. Some say Josiah died young. But this is him. Also in his house were 2 nieces.
Next door was Josiah's sister, Hester (Ester) Ann, age 27, and her husband, Charles Spradley and their 4 children.
1900 Berrien County, Georgia census shows the following.
James Mathis, born Dec 1848, Gerlian, born Aug 1856, married 20 years, had 15 children with 10 living. The children were, Sallie, born Aug 1879, Nancy, born Feb 1883, Jo W., born Mar 1886 (?), James F., born Oct 1889, Gerlian, born Jan 1892, Fannie, born Mar 1893, Mathew, born Apr 1896, and Jack born May 1899.
1910 Berrien County, Georgia census shows the following.
James Mathis, age 58, Girlian age 54 (born 1856), married 29 years, had 16 children with 9 children living. The children in their home at this time were, James F. 20, Fannie 15, Mat (?) 11, and Jack W. 9 years old. They were all born in Georgia.
1920 Berrien County census shows the following. James M. Mathis, age 67, and Gertie Ann 65 years old.
