I have just recently began to investigate this part of my line. Most of my time has been spent working on another branch, the Ashmore family. My Grandfather was Claude Hall of Charleston MS. His father was Philip P Hall and His father was Philip S Hall, all from Charleston. That is where I am stuck because on the census, Philip S says that his father was from GA. And several others I have spoken to say that his father's name was William but I have nothing concrete to link them. I have found several Williams in various GA counties but have yet to find anything to link any of them to Philip. So it sounds like we are talking about two different lines. I did find a land grant that was transferred from Cynthia hall, widow of a Uriah Hall, to Philip S. The grant was originally awarded to a Uriah Hall for service in the war of 1812. On one of the GA census there is a William Hall and a Uriah or Huriah Hall listed togther. So maybe they are brothers or the same person. Does any of that ring a bell to you?
