Hall Family of Huron Co. Ohio/ train wreck

My late uncle, Herman Cooley Hall was born in 1906. Supposedly his parents were killed either in a train wreck or a train collison with their vehicle when Herman was about 2 or 3. He was supposedly thrown into a ditch or field and nearly not found.
A William B. and Mary E. Hall of Huron Co., Ohio either adopted him legally or just raised him....and gave him his name. No one ever knew who Herman really was. In the 1920 Huron Co. census, he is listed with Wm B. and Mary E. It says they had no natural children, and he is listed as son. It also says Herman was born in Va. Does anyone know anything about this Hall family or if there was a train wreck/accident near Huron,Ohio at that time? I thought perhaps with computers now, someone might be able to solve this mystery, or there might be a story in the local paper about the accident. Any help is appreciated.
