Samuel Hall - South Carolina - Georgia - Arkansas
I am searching for information on my great, great, great grandfather, Samuel Hall, born July 6, 1781, in South Carolina, and died June 30, 1854, in Dallas County, Arkansas. He married Mary Ann Hamilton, born 1888 in Ireland. Sometime before 1828, they moved to Monroe County, Georgia. Then in the spring of 1834, they moved to Dallas County, Arkansas.
Their children were:
1)John P. Hall, born June 10,1810, in South Carolina
2)Alexander Hall, born Spet. 23, 1812, in SC
3)George W. Hall, born Jan 12, 1814, in SC
4)Samuel Hall, born May 29, 1820, in SC
5)David Clark Hall, born August 24, 1922, in SC
6)Sarah Ann Hall, born June 2, 1824, in SC
7)James Hall, born Oct 19, 1825, in ???
8)Andrew Jackson "Jack" Hall, born June 22, 1828, in GA
9)Mary Ann Hall, born Nov 12, 1830, in GA
10) William Hall, born abt 1836
David Clark Hall was my great, great grandfather. (See his obit at the Dallas County GenWeb site.) According to an old letter from my great grandfather's brother, Samuel may have been the son of William Hall, born in Ireland. (Paper is old and hard to read.)
There are many similarities in this Samuel Hall and Samuel P. Hall, whose ancestry I have seen posted on the internet.
They both married Hamiltons. Also, many family names are similar; I believe they must have been related. It has been suggested that the Hamilton wives may have been sisters. I have worked for over thirty years on my family tree but have never been able to trace the Hamiltons.
I do have information on all of Samuel Hall's children.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
