Mrs. Sarah Houghtelling Hall 1840-1922 NY to WI
Mrs. Sarah Houghtelling Hall was born in New York State on February 5, 1840. As a child she came with her parents to Wisconsin and lived many years in Wilton. Shortly after the Civil War she was married at Wilton to Robert Hall. They lived for some years in Wilton and about 30 years in Tomah. Mr. Hall died in Tomah on October 15, 1906.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Ole Alton, Mrs. Elmer Black and Mrs. Harris all of whom live in Tomah and by one son Henry Hall of Manchester,Tennessee. Also by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hall departed this life at the home of her daughter Mrs. Harris in Tomah on March 18,1922. Funeral services conducted by Rev. G.H. Willet, were held at the Methodist Church March 21. Mrs Hall was a member of the Methodist Church a devout Christian, a good mother, a good neighbor and respected by all who knew her.
