LUCAS NEWS:
THOS. HALL received a severe gash below the left eye Tuesday by being kicked by a mule while working at the Big Hill mine.
MISS FISHER returned to her home at Burlington Monday after a week's visit with her cousin, MISS NELLE HUNTER.
MRS. ELLA HOBLITZELL went to St. Joe Monday to visit her daughter.
AL BERRY and wife came up from Knoxville Saturday to visit with relatives a couple of weeks.
The firemen and their families enjoyed a box supper at the opera hall Monday evening.
JOHN LANE was a Chariton visitor Tuesday.
MISS C.A. MILLER visited in Boone Wednesday.
D. DONEHUE was in Des Moines on business last week.
MR. DAVIS of Beacon is the guest of his son HARRY, this week.
BERT VORHIES of Hiteman visited with his parents, J.R. VORHIES and wife from Saturday until Tuesday.
ROLLAND TREDENNICK and MISS GRACE ROBERTS were married one day last week at Chariton and will go to housekeeping on a farm northwest of Lucas.
B.F. CLAYTON of Indianola was a Lucas visitor Sunday.
MRS. WILL CHILDERS who has been visiting the past month with Lucas relatives, returned home Wednesday.
W.H. PIM made a business trip to Omaha the first of the week.
