Laban N. and Clarissa Matteson sell to Obed Hall of Stamford land purchased of Obed Hall by deed dated 1f9 Feb. 1849, "being a house, barn, and blacksmith shop standing thereon together with all the tools belonging to be in said shop" dated 9 Dec 1851. Source Book 12 p. 262
My ancester is Laban N. and Clarissa Matteson. Are they related to the Hall family?? I know they stayed in Stamford until after the Civil War. Did they buy from relatives and could not pay for it and sold it back?? Laban was 37 in 1849.
Ethan D. and Huldah Atheron sold house, land and Blacksmith shop to Abel Hall of Halifax Vermont dated 7 Oct 1844.
Is Huldah a Matteson?? In the 1850 Census Job Matteson is living with Ehan G. Atherton. Ethan D. Atherton a blacksmith buys land from Lorenzo D. Atherton which includes a blacksmith shop and tools on 6 Nov 1843. The property is located on the main road to Adams Massachusetts.
Is Job Matteson Laban N. Matteson's father?? The first 4 children of Laban's were born in N. Adams Massachusetts.
The last 2 in Stamford.
Is anyone working on anything like this that might connect to the Matteson family.???
