UPDATE: I finally found where John C. Halford's wife Catharine BROWN-HALFORD b. 13 Jan. 1795 SC d. 1 Feb 1854 Calhoun Co. MS is buried. Methodist Campground (Ragland) Cemetery, Calhoun County MS. Directions: Methodist Campground - [Ragland]Cemetery, near Sarepta. From Bruce, take Highway 9 toward Pontotoc. After you pass the Sarepta community, watch for CR 181 but stay on 9. The cemetery will be on the south side of the road between CR 181 and CR 185.

Also, this is the family that lived in 1840 Russell Co. AL, 1850 Coosa Co. AL and were in Calhoun Co. MS by 1854. John C. Halford was listed in same household as my 2nd grgrandfather John C. WASHINGTON in 1860 Sarepta, Calhoun Co. MS (spelled HOLFORD). This is the same John C. HALFORD that was married to Catharine BROWN and owned slaves.

Also researching if this was the John C. HALFORD Justice of the Peace in Simpson County MS during 1824. Know that James BROWN, Catharines father lived in Warren County MS.
