Man Married on Sept.6 Dies
Philip C. Halfast, 54 of Titusville, Rd 3, who less than a month ago was married, died Tuesday evening at the Veterens Hospital in Erie after an extended illness.
He was born May 2, 1904, in Spartansburg, the son of R. H. and Mabel Buell Halfast.On Sept 6, he married Geneva Morris.He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was member of the VFW post of Corry.
Besides his wife, he leaves on son by a previous marriage, Philip J. Halfast of Corry, and four grandchildren: also the following brothers and sister:Willliam R. Halfast of Corry, Mrs. Isabelle Mettler of Youngstown, O., Neil Halfast of Manteca, Calif., Albert Halfast of Paramonut, Calif., Mrs Lois Litsinger of Mt. Dora, Fla., and Mrs. Betty McElroy of Ft. Myers, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Richard Halfast.
Friends may call at the Torrey and Hays Funeral Home in Spartansburg from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. today.The funeral sevice will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Charles A. fuller of the Centerville Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. H. Ray Harris of the Corry EUB Church, will officiate.Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Spartansburg.A graveside military service will be held by the Corry VFW.
